Membership Covenant

Pneuma · Oakland — covenant circle

This covenant is entered by individuals seeking membership in Pneuma · Oakland, the East Bay circle of Pneuma (a Saba Cooperative mission). Fellowship in Ashland does not require this covenant. Covenant participation in Oakland does.

I affirm

  1. Sincere religious purpose. I seek membership for spiritual development and religious community — not recreation, legal circumvention, or commercial gain.

  2. Statement of Faith. I have read and align with the Pneuma Statement of Faith, understanding that perfect agreement is not required but sincere participation is.

  3. Saba affiliation. I understand Pneuma is a mission of Saba Cooperative and that I am joining a religious community, not a clinical service.

  4. Guide authority. I accept that the entheogenic experience tool is held in covenant by Pneuma guides according to Guide Standards. I will not ask guides to operate outside those standards.

  5. Preparation & integration. I commit to preparation before entheogenic experience and integration afterward — including fellowship attendance and assigned study — as part of religious practice.

  6. Confidentiality. What is shared in covenant practice and member gatherings stays within the circle unless disclosure is required for safety.

  7. Safety disclosure. I will honestly disclose relevant health conditions, medications, and contraindications to guides before entheogenic experience. I understand guides may decline participation if safety requires it.

  8. Non-aggression. I commit to no force, fraud, or coercion — toward members, guides, medicine, or the wider community.

  9. Reciprocity. I will contribute to community sustenance through agreed offerings of time, care, or material support — not as payment for entheogenic experience but as mutual aid.

  10. Geography. I understand the entheogenic experience tool is held in the Oakland circle (East Bay). Pneuma · Ashland is fellowship and pathworking study only.
